Uttar Pradesh and UAE Explore Collaborative Opportunities in Aviation, Agriculture, Logistics, and Skill Development at WEF 2025

On the third day of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 summit in Davos, a key Discussions took place between Mr. Amit Singh, Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Anupam Shukla, Director of UPNEDA, with Mr. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Hon’ble Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen ties between Uttar Pradesh and the UAE, with an emphasis on private sector investments in sectors like logistics, infrastructure development and Agriculture with emphasis on food processing .
The discussions highlighted collaboration in agriculture, supported by improved infrastructure and enhanced air connectivity through the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar. Agriculture remains a key aspect of the Uttar Pradesh-UAE relationship, with Uttar Pradesh being a leading producers of vegetables and fruits. The upcoming Jewar Airport, is set to facilitate these exports, further boosting agricultural trade.
A major part of the discussion also revolved around skill certification for youth from Uttar Pradesh going to UAE for jobs. The UAE, is a major employer of manpower from the state. In the meeting it was emphasized that there is need for streamlineing skill certification programs. So that the skill gap in the people going from Uttar Pradesh can be identified and they can be made industry ready along with valid certifications from state government having acceptance in UAE.
Additionally, the UAE expressed a keen interest in infrastructure projects across Uttar Pradesh. With a focus on boosting the state’s infrastructure, private companies and funds in UAE would be eager to participate in various state infrastructure projects, encompassing everything from transportation to urban development.
This meeting at WEF 2025 marks a significant milestone in the growing cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and the UAE, promising enhanced economic partnerships that will benefit both sides.
